FAQ
What is Going Public?
Going Public uses story-telling to address sexual violence of all forms, responding to a culture that perpetuates sexual violence and silence the voices of those most affected.
Who can contribute?
Teesri Duniya Theatre prioritizes cultural pluralism. We encourage folks of all identities to contribute.
How do I contribute?
In gathering these stories, we maintain anonymity throughout. You can share your story in one of three ways:
About the Project
-
Prioritizing Survivors
We prioritize folks who have experienced and/or witnessed sexual violence, including predatory and sexist behaviour, misogynistic jokes, harassment, threats, the non-consensual distribution of images, and physical assault, including rape - in order to dismantle this culture of violence and pave the way forward.
-
Your Story
We invite you to share as much or as little as you would like regarding your experience(s).
Your contribution will help us create an artistic dialogue, grounded in the lived experiences of the members of our communities, highlighting voices that are often silenced.
-
Consent and Safety
Your informed consent is our utmost priority and will be safeguarded through the project. If you are distressed at any point of your contribution, we have a list of resources (Montreal wide and community specific), all of which support survivors of violence. As well, you can inform the Project Coordinator or Story-Gatherer if you require further support.
-
Anonymity
Your contribution will remain anonymous. Any identifying information will remain confidential and will not be included in any presentation of the project, unless you have specifically requested otherwise.
-
Here and Now
By prioritizing voices of survivors, Teesri Duniya Theatre’s new community program Going Public confronts trauma and encourages self-identified BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour), racialized folks, disabled folks, women, two-spirited and queer people, trans people and and other survivors from marginalized communities to speak out, while providing an anonymous and protected platform to do so.
We believe that your story has the power to make a difference. We believe you.
