A Story and a Song is described as a bewitching blend of bharata natyam, a classical dance form native to southern India, yoga, and an Indian martial art called kalarippayattu. The performance is underpinned by a theatrical structure where it is about women, the environment, love and sensuality, a weaving of stories stemming in particular from Kannada folklore and the oral tradition of the natives of North America.
