“For the first time in its history, the Montreal English Theatre Awards Committee announced the nominees for this year’s Awards Ceremony during a live streamed event on Monday, September 21st.

The Montreal English Theatre Awards (METAs) recognize and celebrate the outstanding artistic work of the individuals and companies that comprise Montreal’s English Theatre community…”

We congratulate our former Community Outreach Coordinator and Purple Divine Founder Kiki Dranias’ inaugural production of Going Up for receiving seven nominations from the METAs:

Outstanding Lead Performance – Actor - Paul Van Dyck – Going Up (Purple Divine)

Outstanding Lead Performance – Actress - Kelly Craig – Going Up (Purple Divine)

Outstanding Contribution to Theatre - Purple Divine – Going Up – Site Specific/Immersive Production (Purple Devine)

Outstanding New Text (Original or Adaptation) - Kiki Dranias – Going Up (Purple Divine)

Outstanding Emerging Artist(s) – Production - Kiki Dranias – Going Up – Playwright & Producer (Purple Divine)

Outstanding Direction - Jen Viens – Going Up (Purple Divine)

Outstanding Independent Production - Going Up – Purple Divine

As Teesri Duniya Theatre’s Community Outreach Coordinator, Kiki facilitated forums and community based events, notably our public forum at La Poubelle Magnifique for Leave Out Racism, Counter Offence’s post-show panel series, Bridges of Hope (postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19/coronavirus pandemic). Kiki was also the Project Leader for the first-ever Fireworks Digital Showcase, which ran May 21st - June 25th, 2020.
